Startup 101 Workshop Guest Speaker 

TJ Woodberry is a self-taught, self-funded entrepreneur who describes herself as “a builder.” She is the owner of Poppi’s Spa + Lounge and holds real estate interests throughout the Tulsa metro area. A longtime Tulsa resident, in 2017 Woodberry left a successful career in international auto sales to focus on her own family and wellbeing, but quickly realized her drive to create needed an outlet. In 2021, she launched the nonprofit initiative “Founded and Funded by Women” to make sure other women have access to the start-up capital they need to build their own businesses.

Khia is a PhD linguist and quantitative UX researcher focused on how humans experience, perceive, and interact with novel audio, speech, and language technologies. She is an expert in experimental design, building insight from variable behavior, working with language data across contexts, and doing applied statistics in R & Python. Khia is passionate about science communication, collaboration, relationship-building, advocacy, and applied research that helps people achieve their goals. Diana Deibel is the Chief Design Officer at Grand Studio and the co-author (with Rebecca Evanhoe) of the book Conversations with Things. Her design background is in conversation design and qualitative UX research, and her life background is in writing and entertainment. She lives for a great book, her kid’s giggle, and making the world incrementally better.

How to Write a Book Workshop Guest Speaker 

Dani Dixon is a writer, comic book creator and the founder of media company, TUMBLE CREEK PRESS. She has published over 20 books. Dani is a storyteller first and foremost. She writes across media, genres and age groups, principally led by story and the desire to “expand where people of color see themselves, and are seen.”

Dani’s comic book series include the superpowered saga “13”, workplace comedy “M.I.S.//ing”, and her latest, “Matilde’s Monsters”, an intersectional, coming-of-age tale. Her novels range from the legal family saga “Munroe & Hillstead”, to the YA fantasy series “Five Nations.” She’s also created a slew of early education activity books for children. Her screenwriting credits include, horror movie “The Hidden”.

How to Write a Book Workshop Guest Speaker 

Rebecca Evanhoe has been developing technology that you talk to since 2012, at companies like Amazon Web Services, Mobiquity, and Shadow Health. She has created virtual patient characters for chat-based learning games, bots for fun and service, and interactive experiences for Alexa and Google Home platforms. She teaches conversation design as a visiting assistant professor at Pratt Institute.

Dr. Joan Palmiter Bajorek is the CEO and Founder of Women in Voice (WiV), the global nonprofit supporting women in voice AI. Ranked the #4 Voice AI Influencer, Bajorek is a leader in the voice tech field internationally. Formerly having worked for Nuance, Bajorek is currently a Technical Advisor for several startups and companies. She has 9+ years of experience in strategy and execution for conversational AI products across healthcare, telecom, government, and customer service verticals. She holds a PhD from the UArizona in the field of speech language technology and an MA in Linguistics from the UC, Davis. She lives in Seattle, WA.
