Women in Voice Amplifies Female Founders with Amazon Alexa Startups
May 14, 2021
Women in Voice (WiV) today announced Amazon Alexa Startups as their first Headliner Sponsor for the “On the Way Up: Elevator Pitch Events Connecting Investors with WiV Founders.” Four elevator pitch events will be hosted in 2021 for female and nonbinary founders, connecting founders with investors. These events will be open to the public at large.

The pitch events will include back to back elevator pitches from female founders, a question and answer round, and time to open the floor for broader discussion. There will also be a form where attendees will be asked to submit constructive feedback to those pitching, to help founders hone their pitches. The events are an opportunity to amplify the voices of talented founders in the space, network, and further educate the WiV community on entrepreneurship.
“These pitch events are the direct result of shared goals to amplify women founders and connect them with investors who are eager to learn and invest in the conversational AI and voice space.” said Dr. Joan Palmiter Bajorek, CEO and Founder of Women in Voice.
The relationship with Alexa Startups builds on the momentum of collaborations with Women in Voice Seattle, where the Alexa Startups team has attended and been a judge at events. This includes WiV Seattle’s “Live Demo Day” in April 2020, where four startups in the Seattle ecosystem pitched to investors and the general public for feedback.
